Attention golfers! If you’re looking to lower your handicap – use CPAP machines and treat your sleep apnea

And now to some sports news:

The LA Times reports that golfers who use CPAP machines and fix their sleep apnea issues can actually lower their handicap by three strokes if not more.

Researchers found out that treating sleep apnea can help golfer’s attentiveness, focus, endurance and ability to make crucial shots, especially when examining older and experienced players.

The study examined 12 golfers with sleep apnea. The golfers received CPAP and NPAP machines treatment and were compared to 12 golfers who did not undergo any treatment.

Well, turns out that the patients who received the treatment had a better handicap average and those who did not receive the treatment had no improvement whatsoever.

The researchers believe that there are 3 million golfers with obstructive sleep apnea and most of them are undiagnosed or just untreated, and as you know, all it takes to treat sleep apnea is a using a CPAP machine – the results can be felt in the next morning!
